The trio, Ema Dunstan (vocals/keys), Jess Lakatosh (bass) and Mackenzie Randall (drums) make music that surges forward with incredible momentum, unrelenting in their animated performance that is captured in all its glory on Hard To Handle.

Across its ten tracks Hard To Handle is a merri-go-round of frenetic energy and rousing compositions tied together by an undeniable sense of fun. The overarching narrative looks at how we grapple with a range of emotions from lust to anxiety and self doubt. Delivered via Dunstan’s bold vocals, the songs have immediate impact with their power.

Hard To Handle is truly a mixed bag of songs that offers plenty of twists and turns along the way. One moment you have opener ‘Look Around’ delivered with an uncontained fervor, the next ‘Heart Line’ which captures the intoxicating nature of love with its luxurious keys perfectly complementing Dunstan’s vocals. Blood curling screams can be heard in ‘Tears of Love’ while ‘Evil’ boasts a gigantic chorus - an asset that Hi-Tec Emotions can easily claim as their defining feature.

Influences on the album range from Kate Bush, X-Ray Specs, Devo and Kleenex. These influences translate into a combination of punk and new wave that is integral to Hi-Tec Emotions and represent the band’s love of music with enduring energy.
